A Privé Tank Normale. 1 of 200 examples made in platinum on a strap. The Normale can only be described as Cartier’s true, original Tank: the first. The Privé collection revisited this first-ever Tank shape in 2023 to create this more industrial, square Tank case for modern times. The case proportion and design have been very gently updated since 1917’s Tank, famously inspired by the Renault FT-17. Touches like a bevelled sapphire crystal, satin-brushed platinum case, and red cabochon all gently nod to the immense past of the Normale. As a result, this is very clearly not just any Tank but the original masterpiece, the Tank which built Cartier’s name in watchmaking first.
