A ref. 4332BA, an early midsized Royal Oak introduced in 1980 and the transitional reference directly after the first-ever midsized ref. 4100. This generation introduced a slightly more masculine 36.5mm case as opposed to the 4100’s 35.5mm. It was also the first midsized Royal Oak with a screwdown crown, more robust and physically larger. In this yellow gold, fewer than 300 examples were ever produced of 4332 and 14332 (AP moved from a four-digit to a five-digit reference system between 1984 and 1985, this watch is from 1984 and predates the switch but the two references are the same watch). There are plenty of vintage touches like the flat Audemars Piguet signature and petite tapisserie. This example is from 1984 and includes an Extract of Archive and correct octagonal Royal Oak box. It’s a Royal Oak reference that has been lauded by collectors paying close attention for years, but few have come to the market in the last decade to satisfy that attention, there simply aren’t many around.
