A ref. 404.032, a world-first chronograph which splits not only seconds but minutes. Debuting in 2004, the Double Split sent shockwaves and pushed technical boundaries beyond the Swiss. This was an immense technical challenge, never before attempted. The resulting calibre L001.1 required 465 hand-finished components, arranged in three layers with its famous 'two towers' for rattrapante function. With all the weight, solidity, and engineer of that Mercedes door Blümlein intended, it is an uber-Lange from the early years of the manufacture.
