A ref. 16018 Datejust with a lacquered mahogany wood dial. Introduced in 1977, the 16018 introduced both a sapphire crystal and quick-set to the Datejust. In addition, it encompassed the most experimental era of Rolex dial production. This example features a glossy mahogany dial with applied cylindrical gold indices, a framed gold date aperture, fluted bezel, and solid-link Jubilee bracelet. It is equal parts unorthodox and individual, Rolex at their most daring.
